Humans of Borgo Bello

The field trip we had on Friday to the university of agriculture, community garden, and the puppet shop gave us the opportunity to meet members of the community. There are plenty of those within the community who come from different backgrounds such as the country side. We met citizens with specific interests to help engage the Borgo Bello community in activities. Such as the puppets, architecture, engineering, and specified agricultural interests. All of the interests have a common theme in bettering the community as a collective effort.

A portrait project called “Humans of New York” created by Brandon Stanton, a photographer who began taking snapshot portraits of the people of New York and elsewhere. He interviews the people following the photo with a quote. The quotes bring you into the inner lives of strangers which are touching, surprising, and inspiring. The project reminds us that we are all in this together. I think something similar in Borgo Bello would help bring insight of the differences people have within the community. Their stories, interests or just their opinions. Stanton has a book, a blog as well as an Instagram and Facebook page. This project encourages the community to learn from one another and to understand how similar or different they are to those around them. Unknown-2book_1.png
